The Manufacturing Engineer will support operations through continuous improvement projects, environmental and safety programs, and process development for new product introduction. The position will also focus on the manufacturing execution system (MES) deployment and optimization.

What you will do:

  • Support and strive towards safe operations in all facets of the manufacturing facility.
  • Lead manufacturing execution system (MES) application, monitoring, troubleshooting, standard development, change management, and plant technical support.
  • Create and modify work instructions and material flows in the manufacturing execution system (MES) to ensure clear and accurate standards for all processes.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve assembly processes utilizing knowledge of product design, material properties, tooling and fixturing, equipment capabilities, and quality control standards.
  • Support a strong culture of continuous improvement philosophies by establishing performance metrics or tools to drive results.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality on prototype builds and new product launches, including developing new processes as required.
  • Assist with developing and continuously improving written safety plans through research and inspection of equipment, processes, and work activities.
  • Collaborate with EHS lead on safety and environmental initiatives and reports.
  • Serve as a liaison between Production, Quality, and Design Engineering on operational projects.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Additional Qualifications Include:

  • BS in industrial engineering or a related degree with experience in manufacturing operations and quality systems.
  • Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma experience highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety and compliance concepts, safety hazard identification, and root cause analysis.
  • 1+ years related work experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of Products: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to motivate, communicate, and drive continuous improvement.
  • High energy demonstrates urgency and fast pace.
  • Independent self-starter with a desire for continuous learning.
  • Strong problem-solving and creative skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on technical analyses.
