MPHS-Mills-Peninsula Medical Center

Position Overview:

Manages and provides operational leadership to the orthopedic service line, including the development, implementation, and organization of the program. Coordinates the efforts between surgeons, hospital administration and staff while managing and tracking the progress of the program and identifying areas requiring attention. Establishes protocols and practices, ensuring compliance with department, entity, operating unit, and/or system standards, policies and procedures, The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, and applicable laws and regulations. Takes a strategic and tactical approach in identifying best practices and standardizing workflows/processes and developing plans of action to implement changes. Establishes and manages capital and operational budgets to achieve financial targets via effective utilization of personnel, resources and supplies. Develops and maintains a solid partnership with internal and external peers, leaders, and/or local/state/federal agencies to facilitate and collaborate on initiatives or issues resolution. Provides guidance and/or direct intervention in resolving challenging or complex situations.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

RN-Registered Nurse

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

8 years recent relevant experience

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Considerable knowledge of personnel, financial, and program management processes and procedures required to effectively plan, organize and coordinate nursing departments.

Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations relating to the management and operations of orthopedic services.

Demonstrates basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-specific care to patient's services, including knowledge of the principles of growth and development and psychosocial characteristics and interpreting age-appropriate data for the populations served in the department.

Demonstrates appropriate communication and patient education skills for the patient population served. Verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to analyze problems, to reach practical conclusions, and institute effective changes. Demonstrates understanding of healthcare financial environment.

Demonstrates ability to develop and manage a budget.

Demonstrates tactical and analytical thinking and planning skills, and can develop plan to accomplish objectives, identify obstacles and resolve operational issues.

Ability to use essential software and applications associated with the role’s duties and responsibilities.

Pay Range is $67.80 to $101.70 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
