The Advanced Emerging Technology (AET) directorate is part of the Raytheon Advanced Technology business unit and is responsible for developing systems that push the boundaries of the state of the art.  Focused on both improving performance and lowering cost, AET has a broad range of development efforts funded by various DoD customers including the services and research labs.  In addition, AET is involved in IRAD projects that explore new capabilities and applications of our technologies.  We are currently seeking an Associate Director to serve as a Portfolio Manager for key efforts within the AET portfolio. 

This role is onsite, and located in Tucson, Arizona. The role requires up to 20% travel.

What You Will Do

• Work closely with the Director and integrated functional teams to develop new business capture strategies and then lead the capture and management of the resulting projects.
• Execute complex technical development efforts to deliver new capabilities to the DoD
• Display strong communication and presentation skills with both leadership and external customers
• Responsible for management of a variety of portfolio CRAD and IRAD efforts
• Responsible for management and reporting of portfolio investment budget
• Travel for customer engagements.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience
• Experience leading or directly supporting execution within a product development project or program
• Experience writing and/or leading responses to solicitations (RFIs, RFPs, etc.), including white papers and proposals
• Experience managing cost, schedule, and technical performance for programs with use of program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Risk and Opportunity Management, Scope Board, or similar business processes
• Experience leading cross-functional teams including, but not limited to: Engineering, Contracts, Finance, Procurement/Supply Chain, and/or Manufacturing/Operations
• Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access and Top Secret after start

Qualifications We Prefer

• Program Management Level 4 Certification or equivalent
• Demonstrated success creating and maintaining strong executive level relationships with suppliers, customers, government representatives, primes and internal peers
• Experience with contract negotiations and execution under varying contract types (IDIQ, OTA, Etc)
• Experience leading missile development activities
• Well-organized with the ability to prioritize and manage a high-mix workload (multiple projects at once)
• Familiarity with government acquisition process
• Active Top Secret U.S. government security clearance
