Job Description Summary:

PayPal, Inc. seeks Manager, Data Engineering 2 in Austin, TX

Job Duties: Lead, develop, and provide technical leadership and contribute to the definition, development, integration, test, documentation, and support across multiple platforms. Build scalable systems, lead technical discussions, participate in code reviews, and guide the team in engineering best practices. Establish a consistent, project management framework and excellent development processes to deliver high quality software, in rapid iterations, for business partners in multiple geographies. Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, and networks. Interview and hire qualified developers, striving to improve bench strength and augmenting project teams with contract staff when required. Effectively lead teams providing appropriate direction and developmental feedback, conducting annual reviews and participating in compensation decisions. Balance production platform stability, feature delivery, and retirement of technical debt across an entire development team.

Job Description:

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered, as a data engineer manager, or a related occupation.  

Special Skill Requirements:

SAP HANA  SAP Business warehouse and Data Integration  SAP Bank Analyzer  Python  Hadoop  ETL  SQL  SAP HANA- Hadoop integration
