$77,216.00 - $115,824.00The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSEThe NICU Data Manager will apply specialized clinical knowledge regarding data definition, coding, and accreditation standards and best practices. Ensures timely, accurate and quality submission of all data registry elements. Prioritize, organize and meet tight deadlines for multiple concurrent tasks and team requests. Develop database structures and features customized to departmental needs. Creation and ongoing monitoring of procedures to ensure data integrity. Prepare and present performance reports to leadership. Perform database maintenance, migration and upgrading hardware and software. Identify process improvement efforts and conducts surveys and audits. Designs and manages SharePoint and intranet website. Organize quality reports, review outcomes, and identify process improvements. Develops workflows and priorities for data collection and reporting. Oversees Documentation Office and data staff. Provides direction and resources to departmental staff. Develops protocols and tools to achieve department and staff goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Directs and devises methods for gathering information, analyzing and interpreting data; prepares reports and makes recommendations which may have policy implications. Creating Relational databases such as MS Access. Data Management of Neodata, NYS NICU Perinatal Data system NICU Module, HERDS, and various QI Databases. Ensure accurate recording of metrics into Neodata and internal databases which include demographic, maternal, pregnancy, delivery, clinical and outcome variables for NICU patients. Transform, create and modify extensive queries using VBA coding and SQL. Develop and maintain VBA macros within Excel to ensure efficient data processing and visualization within various dashboards and QI monitoring projects.
- Leads and determines best practices and develops actionable insights and recommendations for departmental needs or issues. Collaborate with team to understand the scope of project, best data sources, and develop reporting metrics. Engage in ongoing communication with team members to address technical queries and provide solutions. Research and propose new strategies to enhance EMR data integration in workflows and registry abstractions. Regional NYS NICU Module Registry Coordinator requiring collaboration with and mentoring staff at affiliate hospitals. Participate in Statewide Perinatal Data System (SPDS) committee meetings for the Finger Lakes region and prepare SPDS reports. Communicate with registry staff in the NICUs at affiliate hospitals (Rochester General Hospital and Arnot-Ogden). Provide education and training for new and existing staff, clarify registry data definitions, troubleshoot data entry issues and perform data analyses for affiliate NICUs as required. Meet with affiliate registry staff as needed.
- Collects data needs, determines technical issues, and develops ad-hoc reports by working with department to identify and execute analytical requirements. Advanced processing of electronic stored information into multiple systems including hands on file manipulations and conversion. Develop data workflows and validation. Conduct chart abstractions including identifying eligible patients, apply definitions, and validating data.
- Develops predictive models, data mining and custom analysis to support departments quality improvement and research activities. Handles special analytical projects throughout pediatrics.
