POSITION SUMMARY
Sony Corporation of America (SCA), the US headquarters of Sony, has an excellent opportunity for a Manager, Creative & Editorial who will support the launch of a new business incubated within SCA. Our team is ready to add a thoughtful, innovative head of content and creative to our marketing organization. In this role, you will oversee the development of a wide variety of creative executions for all brand touchpoints — web, advertising, social, collateral and more — that excites, educates and motivates potential customers around cutting-edge, but sometimes complicated, tech. You will be a key part of developing the ambitious, data-driven, and supportive team culture we’re striving to build.
As the Head of Content and Creative, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our brand strategy -- establishing an approach to messaging that is engaging, informative, and enhances our identity. You will lead agencies, vendors and creators to develop compelling executions across various platforms that help build a brand that makes things simple and approachable. Your background in writing and editing will be essential in establishing our standards of quality and accuracy. And your keen sense for recognizing and guiding standout creative across a variety of channels will be critical in building a standout brand for our products that, in turn, make the Sony brand more powerful.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Creative development:
Oversee the work of agencies, vendors and contractors in the development of effective, brand-right work
Develop creative strategies that drive action, set us apart and evolve based on performance and fresh insights
Track and communicate best-in-class and innovative creative approaches in the market to keep up-to-date with industry trends and raise the bar for ourselves
Collaborate deeply with design, marketing strategy, product management, customer experience and other functions across the division and company that taps into the expertise, knowledge, vision, and excitement of the organization
Content
Create and maintain a calendar of topics and the subsequent releases of the webpages, social posts and video executions resulting from that, optimizing it for different platforms and audiences.
Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with the company's goals and target audiences
Lead the creation of various types of website articles, social media posts, video scripts, email campaigns, and more
Make sure what the brand creates and publishes is well-researched, accurate, and adheres to brand guidelines. Review and edit for grammar, style, and tone.
Drive campaign and content effectiveness
Integrate SEO best practices into the creation process for web, social and advertising process, making sure it is all discoverable and ranks well on search engines
Monitor and analyze the performance of initiatives, using data to inform future campaign strategies and make necessary adjustments
Collaborate with marketing and PR teams to promote the brand through various channels and campaigns and find new opportunities for the interplay between creative and media, events and partnerships
QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
Your qualifications and experience should include:
Bachelor's degree in communications, advertising, marketing, English, journalism, or a related field or strong equivalent work experience
Proven experience in the creation of campaigns and marketing materials, as well as writing and editorial strategy — with a portfolio of high-quality work to reflect that
6 or more years of experience in writing, advertising, or marketing or strong equivalent experience
Strong leadership and experience managing agencies, contractors and junior employees to create compelling and effective ads, articles, posts, collateral and communications
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
