About the role

Description

FUNCTION:

Non-Exempt -This position is responsible for overseeing and ensuring that safe and proper operation of general facility and plant process equipment are supported and maintained by the PFF Maintenance Department.

DUTIES:

· Maintain safe and proper operation the following equipment:

o Hydraulic systems

o Air operated diaphragm pumps and centrifugal pumps

o Diesel engine operation, service and repair

o Steam boiler and associated components

o Forklift and material handling equipment

o Electrical, HVAC and plumbing

o Compressed air systems; operation, maintenance and repair

o Wire feed and stick welding Oxygen and acetylene and plasma cutting equipment

o Pneumatic tool operation and repair

· Document control of operational logs for rolling stock; assisting in or development of improved PM procedures.

· Interacting with administrative and process personnel to coordinate PMs and repairs.

· Maintaining regulatory compliance by product substitution and improved maintenance work practices where possible.

· Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school graduate or equivalent (college, vocational or job training in a technical field preferred).

· 40-hour OSHA Hazwoper Certification with current 8-hr refresher.

· 16-hour radiation safety training with current 4-hour refresher.

· Attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Personality conducive to teamwork.

· Ability to follow written and oral directives.

· Facility quality assurance program admin level training

· Annual respirator fit test qualified and ability to function in all levels of personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Written and verbal communication skills.

· Displays professionalism.

· Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience operating, repairing and maintaining all types of heavy and light industrial equipment.

· Professional communications and organizational skills to conduct work independent of direct supervision.

· Ability to multi-task and work shift work as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Field/facility work required where there is potential for exposure to radiation, noise, dust and hot and cold temperatures. Climbing, walking and lifting may be normal daily requirements. May involve dangerous working conditions and long, irregular hours; may be regularly exposed to hazardous materials and chemicals, and may be required to stand and lift moderately heavy items for extended periods of time while executing supervisory and roles.
