Maintenance Technician I

Job Title: Maintenance Technician ILocation: Sandston, VAJob Type: Contract to HirePay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician I to serve as a frontline technical resource. This role is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and uphold the company’s safety, quality, and operational standards
• Promptly respond to equipment issues and service calls
• Perform routine monitoring and maintenance on assigned production lines
• Conduct safety audits and identify opportunities for improvement
• Complete and document work orders accurately and consistently
• Participate in machine rebuilds and overhauls
• Replace defective parts and components as needed
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve maintenance issues
• Maintain clear and effective communication with team members across shifts
• Take initiative and ownership in all aspects of the role
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Regular and reliable attendance, with flexibility for occasional irregular hours

Required Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED
• 1–2 years of experience in equipment maintenance (mechanical/electrical)
• Strong understanding of process and packaging equipment

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Associate degree in a technical field
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
