- Salary commencing at $43.32 per hour plus 12% superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience.

The Opportunity
Moonee Valley Libraries is seeking an enthusiastic and technologically capable Library Technician to join the team at Sam Merrifield Library for a temporary contract. This role will be focused on delivering high-quality customer service, ensuring the efficient running of technology at the branch, supporting the delivery of the library's monthly email newsletter and coordinating meeting room bookings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality customer service, including assisting with library technology and digital resources.
- Supervise and support staff when rostered as the senior person on duty.
- Coordinate with the Team Leaders of Sam Merrifield Library and Technology to ensure the efficient operation library technologies, including computers, printing, photocopying and scanning, AV equipment, and the various software packages.
- Communicate and track the status of complex technological issues to various vested interests across council.
- Coordinate meeting room bookings in the library, both internal and external.
- Support the Online Engagement Librarian and Coordinator collections and customer experience in delivering a monthly library email newsletter.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have a Diploma of Library and Information Services acceptable for Library Technician membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).
They will have strong customer service skills, excellent communication abilities, and the well-developed Information Technology skills. Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting digital technologies, online library systems, and various hardware is essential. Strong time management and organisational skills, as well as the ability to lead and supervise staff when required, are key to success in this role.
