What we need
We are hiring a Lead Product Owner within the Enterprise Technology (ET) team. You will own all aspects of our API technical product in the Agile environment. You will apply specialized healthcare product knowledge across multiple healthcare domains and expertise to understand the business needs and technology objectives, identify and communicate the product vision and roadmap and prioritize and translate needs into requirements to ensure that expected outcomes are achieved. You will be responsible for concurrently managing multiple projects with multiple teams across multiple business areas in a matrixed reporting structure.
Your Day to Day
- Understand BCBSMA and initiative strategy to develop and support feature-level objectives and acceptance criteria
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to define, develop, shape and refine API product features
- Develop feature roadmaps in support of strategic initiatives; define feature delivery dates based on team capacity and velocity in partnership with Scrum Masters and Project Management
- Thinks Minimum Viable Product, coupled with continuous improvements
- Manage 2-in-a-box collaboration between business and development teams to properly prioritize and define acceptance criteria
- Ensure that proposed solution concepts are aligned with the existing enterprise framework solution, business roadmap and objectives and the enterprise product management roadmap
- Drive and own backlog management, sequencing product backlog into sprints
- Maintain the functional quality of deliverables by setting and evaluating expectations and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure that prioritized solutions are delivered in a timely manner
- Manage all communication needs as primary point of contact for assigned initiatives
- Mentor product owners on advanced user story backlog prioritization techniques and associated artifacts
- Mentor systems analysts on user story elaboration and requirements documentation techniques
- Responsible for decomposition of value stream epics; collaborating with the team to develop user stories

We’re Looking for:
- Demonstrated experience supporting multiple time-sensitive, complex projects, involving multiple stakeholders and/or external vendors.
- Experience implementing and maintaining API’s across multiple Healthcare domains
- Comfort speaking and communicating to different audiences including business and technical teams
- Comfort managing strong personalities, internally and externally

What You Bring:
- The ideal candidate will need:
- BA/BS in computer science/technology or business, or equivalent work experience, MS/MBA preferred
- 8-10 years of experience as a product owner
- Experience in the healthcare/payor industry
- Product Owner and Safe Agile certification is a plus
- Comprehensive understanding of SQL Developer
- Technical System Analyst or Developer experience
- An understanding of:
- HL7 fundamentals and standards and FHIR resources
- REST Application Programming Interface (API) architecture
- Microservices architecture
- The Healthcare industry and the challenges of integrating healthcare systems using APIs
- The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification is a plus
- Healthcare EDI standards and formats is a plus
