Lab Support Technician

The Opportunity:
In this role, you will report to the Onsite Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
Location: Ipswich, MA
Shift: 730am - 4pm (Monday - Friday)
Hourly Rate: $22.00

What we’re looking for
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in a scientific or technical field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience required.
Basic media preparation experience required.
Previous experience working in a GMP facility a plus
Knowledge of scientific products and services a plus
Familiarity with SAP and laboratory equipment is a plus.
Valid Drivers Licencse required. (Will travel to Beverly, MA weekly)
Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs and safety protocols.
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Ability to lift and move packages and lab materials as needed (up to 50 lbs).
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Must exhibit core values and behaviors (Integrity, respect, collaboration, accountability, etc)
Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, data entry systems).

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.
In this role you will:
Glassware Washing & Drying
Collect, inspect, and wash laboratory glassware following protocols.
Operate glass wash and drying equipment, ensuring cleanliness and integrity of items.
Restock cleaned glassware and track daily washing activities.
Monitor and replenish consumables
Perform data collection, order entry, and confirmation to maintain inventory levels.
Receive inbound shipments from vendors and off-site warehouses at the main loading dock.
Autoclaving
Collect, prepare, and autoclave materials using proper wrapping and tagging procedures.
Track autoclaving activities and manage consumable inventory.
Return sterilized items to designated locations and support additional lab functions as needed.
Media Services
Maintain and restock media inventory across designated lab areas.
Prepare and aliquot media using sterile techniques and document batch details.
Ensure timely replenishment using FIFO practices and maintain clean bottle stock.
