Job Description:
Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) is currently seeking an IT Project Planner in Midland, TX, reporting to the IT Director of E&P systems. The position will coordinate multiple technology initiatives from inception to completion and help to define project management practices within the IT department. Furthermore, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with IT leadership, technical teams, and business stakeholders to keep initiatives aligned, moving, and delivered with quality.
General Responsibilities
Establish and lead the IT department’s approach to project planning with a focus on agility, accountability, and transparency.
Collaborate with technical leads and business stakeholders to develop project plans that include clear scope, milestones, timelines, and resource needs.
Support teams in forecasting timelines, identifying risks, and tracking progress toward key deliverables.
Serve as a connector between cross-functional teams—ensuring alignment, resolving blockers, and fostering momentum.
Prepare materials and assist project prioritization working with the CIO and key stakeholders.
Facilitate project meetings, status reviews, and retrospectives.
Build an annual delivery roadmap to drive resource and budget planning.
Manages multiple IT projects concurrently, ensuring seamless execution and delivery.
Mentors PM’s through the established practices and artifacts to successfully deliver efforts.
Support vendor management and contract coordination for projects involving third-party providers.
Required Qualifications
BS/BA in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or equivalent experience.
10+ years of experience with planning and leading technical projects.
5+ years of IT expertise in software development, infrastructure management, networking, cybersecurity or analytics.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of oil and gas industry experience.
Demonstrated experience with a proven track record in successful implementation of technology solutions.
Strong understanding of technology project lifecycles including software development, system upgrades, cloud/infrastructure, and data initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to deliver projects in an environment where speed and flexibility are key.
Ability to influence others without a direct line of reporting.
