Purpose of the Job
As the IT Engineering Manager for JFK & EWR ITSEC group at SDC sites, you will be responsible for managing the ITSEC team at both Airports, supporting ITSEC systems design and construction support of various redevelopment projects at JFK Airport as they relate to the JFK AirTrain ITSEC operations. Primary focus: managing ITSEC team and O&M systems support, coordinating efforts of multiple stakeholders, including ITSEC engineering group, contractors, government agencies, airport personnel, and the JFK Rail Operations team, to ensure that ITSEC and communications projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all parties involved in a support role.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage ITSEC group of technical staff with 15+ employees, including System Engineers, IT Specialists and Project Engineers.
- Develop ITSEC project plans and schedules and oversee their implementation to ensure the timely completion of projects.
- Work with stakeholders to identify ITSEC project requirements/scopes and ensure that designs meet those requirements.
- Manage ITSEC team & ITSEC maintenance budgets and monitor expenditures to ensure that ITSEC system maintenance is completed within budget.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed to the required standards and specifications.
- Manage ITSEC project risks and issues and develop contingency plans as needed.
- Ensure that all ITSEC project documentation is maintained correctly and organized.
- Coordinate with both sites JFK/EWR and PANYNJ executive ITSEC-related working group.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide ITSEC systems & project updates, address concerns, and ensure all parties comprehend.
- Work with the required internal and external AirTrain OPS to obtain all necessary approvals.
- Ensure that all ITSEC projects comply with relevant safety regulations.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Masters Degree (Preferred)
Required Experience
- 4 years of IT Security experience
- 3 years of IT Project Management experience (or demonstrated equivalent)
- 4 years of leadership experience with technical staff (team building, training, leading projects, mentoring)
- Certifications (CCNA, Network +, Security +)
- Experience investigating IT Security and Cyber incidents/accidents and manage regulatory investigation corrective action plans in accordance with oversight board guidelines.
- Experience working with the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey or a comparable agency.
Preferred Experience
- 6 years of IT Security experience
- 5 years of IT Project Management Experience (or demonstrated equivalent)
- 6 years supervisory experience managing technical staff (team building, performance management, professional development, hiring)
- Experience working with the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey.
