IU Health is currently seeking an Infection Preventionist-PRN to support the Infection Control department at Methodist Hospital. The schedule for this position is PRN.
The Infection Preventionist conducts targeted infection surveillance activities including investigation and responses to outbreaks of infections among patients and/or personnel. Recommends and teaches appropriate preventative measures to control infection. Assures compliance with recommendations from regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- Associates degree or higher.
- Knowledge of nursing and medical procedures; medical and environmental microbiology; infectious disease; epidemiology; asepsis and immunology preferred.
- Requires knowledge of local; state; and national regulations and standards and their impact on infection control.
- National certification in infection control preferred within 3 years from date of hire.
- 3-5 years of experience in healthcare or related field preferred. Prior experience in infection control preferred.
