Who are we looking for?

 

We are looking for a leader to work side by side with the Smelting Department supervisor to oversee the workforce, ensuring effective control and direction of the processing of solder reclaim, dross, and scrap materials.

 

The chosen person will be responsible for upholding safety, quality, and production standards while supporting initiatives to optimize inventory levels and achieve departmental objectives.

What will you be doing?

• Workforce Management: Oversee vacation schedules, overtime, and timecard system; fill in for Smelting Supervisor as needed.

• Reporting/Recordkeeping: Enter data into JDE, manage PO corrections with purchasing, and maintain Controlled Documents.

• Inventory Management: Ensure accurate inventory transactions, perform cycle counts, and handle physical inventories.

• Communication with Purchasing: Provide documentation for orders and adjust schedules to meet deadlines.

• Safety: Enforce and promote safety rules throughout the department.

• Quality: Maintain quality standards and engage in continuous improvement efforts.

• Other Duties: Substitute for off-shift supervisors as required.

Who are You?

 

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College-level training is desirable but not essential.
• Two to five years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

What competencies will you need?

Computer Skills – basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, Lotus Notes, JDE Systems.

Administration Skills – Must be able to balance the timely operation of the department while ensuring all required reports are completed and procedures / policies followed.

Facilitation Skills – Must be able to resolve conflict decisively and diplomatically; tap other people’s resources to get the job done; and ensure two-way communications.

Safety Knowledge – Must have complete understanding of Company Safety rules and regulations and can discover unsafe acts / conditions in Department.

Quality Knowledge – Must have a thorough understanding of Company quality standards as it pertains to products the incumbent oversees.
