This position is for Stevens students currently enrolled. Must have at least 6 credits. Requirement: Candidate must have received a Federal Work Study on your Financial Aid Award Letter. Students can speak with Student Employment regarding further job questions. This position is for Stevens students currently enrolled.

  • Name of the position: FWS Student Assistant
  • Classification of the position: Technical Typist 1
  • Name and address of the student’s employer: Stevens Institute of Technology- Physics Department
  • Department or office in which the student will be employed; Physics Department
  • Location where the student will perform his/her duties; Student’s computer
  • Name of the student’s supervisor: Dr. Norman Horing
  • Purpose or role of the position within the organization; Student will assist Dr. Horing with typing manuscripts for books and research papers
  • Duties and responsibilities associated with the position and how they relate to the purpose or role; part of responsibility is to do report research in journal and books
  • Rates of pay for the position: $15.13
  • General qualifications for the position and the specific qualifications for the various levels or rates of pay associated with the position; Student must be able to type in LaTex
  • The length of the student’s employment (beginning and ending dates); employment will be for the academic year, as long as the student is eligible for FWS and is awarded FWS for that academic year
  • Procedures for determining a student’s rate of pay when a position has multiple rates;
  • N/A
  • Evaluation procedures and schedules: To determine the student’s capability in LaTex typing and proofreading. Schedule consist of the student(s) working whenever they are available.
