This position is for Stevens students currently enrolled. Must have at least 6 credits. Requirement: Candidate must have received a Federal Work Study on your Financial Aid Award Letter. Symposia Bookstore is a non-profit organization whose mission is to foster community
and provide a safe, welcoming space for relationship building and personal development.
We are seeking friendly, enthusiastic book-lovers to help with some or all of the
following store activities:
- inventory management (re-stocking shelves, processing and organizing donations,
logging inventory into database, etc.);
- sales and customer service;
- assisting store manager with set-up for various on-site events, such as parties, book readings, workshops, and other community events
Hourly rate: $17 per hour
Start of Position: July 1, 2024
End of Position: May 18, 2025
COVID Precautions:
We follow the CDC guidance in the bookstore as follows:
-We allow only 4 customers at a time in
-We ask everybody to disinfect their hands upon entering the store with the product we provide.
-We have visible signs asking for social distancing and mask wearing while in the store.
-A large Plexiglas screen is separating the employee at the front desk from customers.
-We clean and disinfect the surfaces on a daily basis or as necessary.
-We require mask wearing from all customers and personnel at all times.
-We keep all the windows and door open at all times with 4 large fans running.
-We ask employees to self-check at home for fever, coughing, running nose before coming in
