Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

The Financial Analyst of FP&A is responsible for assisting in the financial planning and forecasting for Versant. This role will interact with Corporate and Business Unit leadership, particularly through the budget and estimate cycles. In addition, the Financial Analyst will participate in / coordinate ad hoc projects as requested.

The Financial Planning and Analysis team is responsible for all planning and estimate cycles, internal reporting and related analysis for Versant financial results. The team also oversees the preparation of presentations to a wide spectrum of internal and external audiences including Versant senior management, Investor Relations, Business Unit leadership, and external audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Manage planning cycles for assigned businesses / functions
  • Continually review financial processes to improve overall efficiency and accuracy and drive effective financial forecasting
  • Day-to-day liaison with business / corporate heads and coordinators
  • Coordinate and actively participate in reviews with senior leaders
  • Assist on closing processes, including detailed variance analysis and reporting
  • Identify ways to improve effectiveness and efficiency of processes
  • Other Analysis & Ad Hoc Projects:
    • Identify opportunities to create value-added financial analysis
    • Participate in other ad hoc projects

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting and a minimum of 1 year experience in Finance and Accounting

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Subject to change based on Manager discussion or business need.
