SUMMARY:

The Regional Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for overseeing the financial aid operations for multiple campus locations. This position reports to the Director of Financial Aid Operations. This role will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards for all aspects of the financial aid process. This includes customer service and relationships with other departments, timely and effective packaging for potential and new enrollments along with active students and maintaining low levels of past due through quality processing and reduced rejects. This role will also be responsible for conducting quarterly audits, overseeing the student accounts receivables, providing regular reporting and assistance with staff training.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee the delivery of financial aid services for designated campuses; coordinates logistics and workflow to ensure the effective delivery of services for potential & new enrollments, and current students.
  • Effectively work with the Financial Aid Director or Manager to improve the overall effectiveness and results of the campus team; this includes technical and customer focused training and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Provide support to campus financial aid team as a resource for institutional, Federal, State and VA issues and questions.
  • Oversee timely and accurate processing of new enrollments; consistently maintain packaging goal.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of awards for all subsequent academic years.
  • Review and provide regular reports on the daily operations of the department’s processing, awarding and appointments.
  • Ensure consistent and effective stitch meeting with the Admissions team.
  • Oversee the maintenance of approved forms and ensure policies and procedures are being used; make recommendations for changes as needed.
  • Ensure consistent processing, awarding and distribution of funds to eligible students in a timely, accurate and equitable manner.
  • Ensure the reduction of campus annual FSA audit findings; also increasing the campus quality results and conduct effective corrective action plans throughout the year.
  • Assist Financial Aid Director or Manager to consistently achieve past due processing goals and minimizing the number of students required for academic schedule holds each module.
  • Conduct regular review and audit of financial aid files to monitor teams’ accuracy and compliance; also conduct observation of prelim and packaging appointments to ensure staff is consistently proving excellent customer service and accurate information to students & parents.
  • Assist Financial Aid Director or Manager with professional development of team; provide input for annual reviews or performance improvement plans as needed; maintain weekly presence at campuses.
  • Create and provide regular reporting and metrics to show team progress.
