Job Summary

Manage and direct Maintenance/Reliability and Project activities for Vistra by providing subject matter expertise in the following areas:
Perform inspections as required by regulatory and company policy.
Develop short and long-range Dragline/Coal Facilities maintenance plans, detailed outage plans and procedures, and provide project management support for capital/O&M builds.
Develop/maintain overhaul and repair specifications.
Coordinate reliability centered maintenance practices.
Oversee critical record keeping, develop and implement standardized best practices and cost control systems, direct all non-destructive testing activities, interface with procurement and warehouse organizations for component selection and inventory optimization, provide engineered solutions to fleet performance issues, maintain key vendor relationships, and maintain mining industry networks.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

• Direct the maintenance activities of Vistra to ensure long term reliability and superior performance of Dragline/Coal Facilities through the implementation and monitoring of maintenance processes and procedures.

• Direct the development of annual and long-term equipment plans for Vistra.   Lead the maintenance team through direct reports and contractor support to provide the supervision, training and development required to ensure that it provides the best-in-class maintenance program safely, reliably and efficiently for Vistra.

• Effectively interface with mine operations, support staff, procurement and other Vistra organizations to ensure consistent work practices and sharing of knowledge to optimize efforts in providing effective solutions to equipment maintenance issues.

• Direct and manage equipment overhaul/maintenance special projects.

• Participate in special projects and committee assignments as requested.

• Ensure support of MWBE programs.

• Rigorously drive Strategic Sourcing initiatives to improve the operation and cost structure of all mining operations.

• Provide back-up for the Maintenance Manager.

• Support safety programs and ensure compliance.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

• Minimum 10 years related experience in mining industry or other environment that promotes development in the areas described by the essential duties, responsibilities and necessary skills for this position. *Dragline experience preferred.

• Minimum 7 years mine maintenance experience in a management role.

• Strong leadership in the maintenance of Vistra owned and operated equipment.

• Exhibits strong business judgment in the management of costs and safety standards.

• Works collaboratively across boundaries of business units, service providers, alliance partners, suppliers and industry groups in execution of responsibilities.

• Builds a positive work environment to assure leadership, work force diversity, technical excellence, innovation, high productivity, safe work practices, and high morale.

• Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills

Key Metrics

Safety-

•Ensure annual audits for each site are completed as required by program

•Ensure MSHA compliance with equipment outages and projects

Technical -

• Develop outage schedules and outage optimization plans for Dragline and Coal Facilities outages.

• Manage rotating equipment repairs through approval process and quality control.

• Perform one audit per year for and Kosse Draglines and Coal Facilities, document findings, distribute, make recommendations, and follow up.
