Position Summary
The Data Scientist SME Strategic Advisor provides strategic direction for the implementation of Data Intelligence within Raventek’s client environment. This role is critical in aligning Data Intelligence initiatives with Raventek’s business objectives, use cases, and existing architecture while ensuring a seamless integration with its complex enterprise environment. The advisor plays a pivotal role in shaping the RavenVISION strategy and roadmap, driving data-driven decision-making at the enterprise level. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance and therefore RavenTek's mission to support our customer’s mission.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Strategic leadership, involving defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Data Intelligence initiatives while ensuring they align with the customer’s mission and objectives.
- Enterprise alignment, focusing on developing frameworks and approaches to integrate RavenVISION within the existing customer architecture, addressing challenges related to scalability, security, and interoperability.
- Use Case Development including identifying, prioritizing, and supporting key data intelligence use cases to enhance operational efficiency, analytics capabilities, and decision-making within the customer’s environment
- Stakeholder collaboration, requiring engagement with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, data science, and leadership, to drive data initiatives and promote best practices in data strategy.
- Data governance & compliance, ensuring that all data intelligence implementations adhere to federal regulations, security standards, and compliance requirements.
- Technology evaluation, including assessing emerging data technologies, AI, and machine learning tools to enhance the effectiveness of DISA’s data intelligence ecosystem.
- Develop performance metrics focusing on defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of data intelligence initiatives on customer’s operational success.
- Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
- Submit MSRs and required deliverables (weekly, monthly, etc.)
- Monitor RavenTek email on a regular basis, at least 3 times per week, and respond accordingly.
- Complete required compliance training as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Regular monthly travel to the customer site in Ft Meade required.
Knowledge and Critical Skills
- Expertise in developing and implementing enterprise-level data strategies.
- Deep understanding of architecture, operational complexities, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with DoD policies, data governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
Education & Work Experience
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with data intelligence platforms.
- Extensive experience in data science, AI, machine learning, or data analytics within a government or defense environment.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, big data architectures, and AI-driven analytics.
Certifications, Licenses
- Certifications in Cloud, AI, or Data Governance (e.g., AWS, Azure, DoD 8570 certifications).
Special Requirements
- Secret clearance required.
Work Environment
Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.
