Senior R&D Engineer, Electrical

The Interventional Urology Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading, defining, and evaluating new product development tasks as they pertain to active implantable medical devices, specifically the electrical domain. This role will work as a critical member of the technical team and at times leading a workstream.
Major Areas of Accountability
- Technical Leadership
- Understands the definition and development of complex electrical hardware architectures for new and existing products.
- Experience with EMC, Safety testing, and 60601 standards.
- Experience working within FDA standards and expectations.
- Demonstrates technical rigor, and quality compliance.
- Provide guidance to other employees within job area.
- Routinely demonstrates strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Technical Oversight
- Works with the team in evaluating system-level requirements and translating them into robust, scalable hardware solutions.
- Experience in analog/digital circuit design techniques for low power or implantable applications.
- Experience with component selection, circuit topology, power distribution, signal integrity, and embedded hardware integration.
- Project & Process Management
- Support the product lifecycle from concept through verification, validation, transfer to manufacturing, and post-market support.
- Ensure rigorous risk management practices, including hazard analysis and FMEA, are applied to all designs.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Advocates for best practices and continuous improvement to mature Electrical Engineering knowledge and processes.
- Collaborate with all functions within R&D, and across the organization to ensure program success.
- Drive root-cause analysis and resolution of complex hardware issues throughout development, verification, and sustaining phases.

Basic Qualifications
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree in related field is preferred.
- 5+ years of engineering experience.
- Active Implantable medical device system experience.
