Responsibilities
Managing People
- Provides direction and gains compliance
- Includes subordinates in planning
- Takes responsibility for subordinates’ activities
- Makes self available to subordinates
- Provides regular performance feedback

- Always promote and maintain a safe and clean work enviorment
Maintenance
- Inspects equipment regularly
- Determines preventative maintenance needs
- Performs preventative maintenance as scheduled
- Diagnoses equipment problems
- Maintains adequate parts and supplies
- Ensures repairs are performed promptly
Managing Maintenance Skills
- Actively works to close the “Skills Gap” for maintenance associates
- Compiles effective Development Plans for maintenance associates
- Actively meets with associates on their skills and encourages growth
- Has the right skills in the plant to effectively manage maintenance
- Effectively tracks and evaluates maintenance costs and time spent
Maintenance – Other Duties
- Assumes responsibility for ensuring safe work habits
- Responsible for safe mechanical conditions
- Plans and follows up for constant improvement
- Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
- Responsible for adhering to Food Safety Compliance.
- Respond to any emergency or potential emergency.
- Security diligence, including maintaining control of door accesses, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Berry employees and proper maintenance/security of Berry equipment and information.
- Constant vigilance and participation in GMP and SQF practices.
- Assist in the prevention of nonconforming product from being shipped to customers.
- Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality systems.
- Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.
- Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
- Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes or systems and very the implementation of solutions.
- Responsible for department’s adherence to the GMP.
- Track, confirm and verify training for employees in the department and schedule training as needed and required.
Engages in Continuous Improvement Process
- Works to identify/develop CIP projects based key business needs
- Understands/acts on Metrics, measures “gap” and structures effective corrective actions
- Actively working on CIP training
- Leads, facilitates and participates in CIP Projects
- Acts as a process owner, actively lives Berry's Culture
- Trained in and uses effectively the tools of CIP.

Education or Experience:
(10) years of progressive Blow Molding experience in a high volume-manufacturing environment. BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
