As part of Technology, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking initiatives that shape New York Life's digital landscape. Leverage cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI to increase productivity, streamline processes, and create seamless experiences for clients, agents, and employees. Your expertise fuels innovation, agility, and growth — driving the company's success.

Role Overview:

Are you insatiably curious, dangerously articulate, and passionate about transforming complexity into clarity? We’re searching for a Technical Analyst who bridges technology and business with precision and grace. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical instincts, exceptional writing skills, and the interpersonal savvy to thrive in a fast-moving, deeply integrated Wealth Management technology landscape.
In this position, you’ll operate at the intersection of business analysis, product strategy, and technical delivery—decoding business needs, drafting crisp user stories, interpreting data, and collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams to shape solutions in a complex ecosystem that spans both legacy platforms and next-gen AI.

What You’ll Do:

• Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Elicit, analyze, and translate business and user requirements into clearly defined features, user stories, process flows, and functional specs.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business leads, technology leads, financial advisors, product managers, engineers, and QA to refine scope and prioritize backlog items.
• Technology Alignment: Understand data flows, APIs, third-party integrations, and system dependencies; communicate implications to business stakeholders.
• Data-Driven Analysis: Leverage SQL and data management tools to investigate issues, validate requirements, analyze operational trends, and inform design decisions; support proactive monitoring and triage of data-related anomalies across the ecosystem.
• User-Centric Design Thinking: Support the creation of prototypes, wireframes, and test scenarios with a clear focus on client and advisor experience.
• AI-Focused Discovery: Identify opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence and automation (e.g., GenAI, workflow triggers, intelligent alerting) to enhance operational efficiencies and insights.
• Quality & Testing: Collaborate with QA to define acceptance criteria, support UAT, and troubleshoot issues in coordination with developers and testers.
• Change Navigation: Help business partners prepare for new feature rollouts by creating training materials, communications, and release notes.

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Economics, or related field.
Experience & Required Skills:
• 1–3 years of experience in a Business Analyst, Technical Analyst, or Business Operations role, preferably within financial services or wealth management.
• Foundational understanding of data models, process mapping, and basic system architecture.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills—capable of explaining complex systems in plain English.
• Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies, story writing, backlog grooming, and sprint planning.
• Proficiency with collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Lucid chart, Excel).
• Familiarity with GenAI tools, machine learning, or large language models.
