SUMMARY:

The Senior Cashier position is a great opportunity to work for an established, top-rated Wealth Management firm. The Cashiering Department is an integral department in managing firm and client risk, while ensuring client requests are processed quickly and accurately. This position is responsible for assisting and educating advisors and staff with cashiering activities, handling escalations, and principal approvals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Comply with all regulatory rules, written desktop procedures, and company policies
• Identify exceptions/anomalies around activities and functions processed within Cashiering and bring to Anti-money Laundering to Management's attention immediately, then work with Compliance and Management to resolve
• Generate and review daily reports
• Book or transmit checks and securities into client accounts
• Review legal paperwork for client securities and forward to the clearing firm
• Process and/or approve client requests, including:
◦ Checks, wires, journals, EFT’s, transfers and ships
◦ Fees charges, fee reversals, and write-offs
◦ One-Time IRA distributions
◦ High-dollar principal approvals
• Communicate directly with advisors and staff to resolve problem issues
• Communicate directly with advisors, staff, and end clients to verify disbursements
• Reconcile and review daily work
• Able to sign outgoing brokerage checks
• Perform a safe log process
• Monitor and assist other positions within and outside the department
• Ability to train coworkers on all job functions within the department
• Ability to assist management with the department when the Supervisor is out or in meetings
• Be the first point of escalation within the department
• Ability to assist other departments as needed
• Ability to hold/lead meetings and run special projects with minimal supervision, as determined by management
• Take deposits to the bank, as needed
• Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR ABILITIES:

• Must understand the operational and regulatory aspects of cashiering processing through a 3rd party custodian like Fidelity/NFS.
• Working knowledge of National Financial Services (NFS) is preferred
• Experience with Salesforce and Laserfiche is preferred
• Ability to interact well with internal and external customers
• Must be able to lead by example
• Must routinely exercise sound business judgment and be able to work independently
• Must be able to perform duties accurately and in a timely manner.
• Must be recognized as a go-to person for questions and escalations.
• Must exemplify the corporate mission statement and the advisor's first culture.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Must have basic knowledge of PowerPoint.
• Must be able to read, analyze, and reconcile trading reports.
• Must become proficient with the use of clearing firm, vendor(s), and internal programs and software within 30 days of hire, including but not limited to Salesforce.
• Must possess good analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must have good attention to detail.
• May be required to work overtime, as necessary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Series 24 Principal responsibilities once Series 24 licensed

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• High School Graduate required
• A college degree or some college preferred
• 3+ years equivalent industry-related experience preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION:

• SIE required
• Series 7 license preferred, or desire to obtain
Series 24 license preferred, or willingness to obtain
