Position Title: Director, Strategic FP&A (Remote)
Position Summary:
The Strategic Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) at Penn Foster plays a pivotal role in driving the financial strategy that supports our mission of expanding access to affordable, career-relevant education. This role partners closely with the VP of FP&A and senior leadership to align financial performance with organizational objectives across both B2B (institutional and employer partnerships) and B2C (direct-to-learner) channels.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who combines analytical depth with a strong understanding of the education and workforce development sectors. They will oversee enterprise FP&A processes, provide actionable insights, and guide financial decision-making that supports Penn Foster’s long-term growth and mission impact.
Essential Job Functions:
Strategic & Financial Leadership
• Partner with the VP of FP&A to develop and execute financial strategies that drive growth, scalability, and mission alignment across Penn Foster’s business lines.
• Lead long-range financial planning and scenario modeling to evaluate new markets, partnerships, and program innovations.
• Translate financial data into strategic insights that inform executive decisions and Board-level reporting.
Financial Planning & Analysis
• Collaborate with finance team on the corporate budgeting, forecasting, and performance management processes, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and strategic alignment.
• Develop and maintain financial models that capture the unique dynamics of B2B partnerships (institutions, employers, and workforce agencies) and B2C enrollments (individual learners).
• Monitor and analyze key financial drivers—revenue performance, margin trends, acquisition costs, and operational efficiency—to support continuous improvement and profitability.
• Provide financial leadership for new initiatives, assessing ROI, risk, and scalability.
Performance Management & Insights
• Build and maintain KPIs and dashboards that track financial and operational performance across both business segments.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders in Marketing, Product, and Operations to measure success and improve conversion, retention, and learner outcomes.
• Lead monthly and quarterly financial performance reviews, synthesizing insights and recommending actionable steps.
Team Development & Process Excellence
• Lead and mentor Strategic FP&A team, cultivating a culture of analytical rigor, business partnership, and professional development.
• Enhance the FP&A infrastructure by improving forecasting accuracy, automating reporting, and standardizing financial processes.
• Leverage modern financial planning and analytics tools to increase scalability and decision-making speed.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive FP&A or corporate finance experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
• Demonstrated experience supporting both B2B and B2C models, ideally in education, training, or mission-driven organizations.
• Strong financial modeling and forecasting expertise, with proficiency in BI and analytics platforms (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent).
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Proven ability to collaborate across teams and influence strategic outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
