Zayo is seeking a Director, Fiber Analytics & Systems to be responsible for leading the strategic planning, development, and operational management of fiber optic networks and related analytical systems. This role involves overseeing the integration of data analytics to optimize fiber network performance, drive innovation, and support the overall business objectives. The Director, Fiber Analytics & Systems will work with a team of analysts, engineers, and system developers to ensure the successful implementation and management of fiber optic records systems, focusing on improving efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for fiber analytics and systems that aligns with the organization’s goals and market trends.
Work with a cross-functional team to deliver innovative solutions in fiber network data recording, performance optimization, and data-driven decision-making.
Provide thought leadership in emerging technologies and methodologies related to fiber optics and network analytics.
Operational Management
Oversee the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of fiber optic networks, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Manage the integration and utilization of advanced analytics tools to monitor network health, predict failures, and optimize resource allocation.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in network management and data security.
Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor and collaborate with a high-performing team of fiber analysts, engineers, and system developers.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
Set clear performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Project & Resource Management
Oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of projects related to fiber systems upgrades, and analytics system implementation.
Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and external partners to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services.
Optimize resource allocation, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Data Analytics & Reporting
Lead the development and deployment of analytics models to assess and improve fiber network performance.
Analyze data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for network optimization and cost reduction.
Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of fiber networks.
Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the organization at the forefront of fiber optics and network analytics.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the performance and sustainability of fiber systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in fiber optics, telecommunications, or a related industry, with at least five (5) years in a leadership role.
Proven experience in managing fiber optic networks, data analytics, and systems integration.
In-depth knowledge of fiber optic technologies, network design, and performance optimization.
Proficiency in data analytics, with experience in data management tools.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
Excellent project management skills, with experience in budgeting, resource allocation, and vendor management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
