Laser Machine/Bend Press Operator 1

General Description:   

•  The Machine Operator 1 is an entry level position responsible for assisting more advanced Machine Operators along with any other Fabrication Department needs.  They will assist in parts production, the operation and maintenance of CNC equipment, follow all safety regulations, and adhere to S3S standards of maintaining clean work areas and equipment.  

 Essential Functions:  

•  Maintain a clean and safe work environment. 

• Complies with established safety standards and policies for the Fabrication Department. 

• Operates overhead crane for loading full sheets and unloading cut parts, from the cutting table. 

• Conducts inventory counts as directed. 

• Proficient in operating all non-CNC fabrication tools. 

• Cleaning & performing routine maintenance of all fabrication tools and machinery. 

• Assist Fabrication Manager with, but not limited to: 

• Packing 

• Wrapping 

• Loading of deliveries 

• Unloading of deliveries  

• Assist in facility projects including: 

• Moving items 

• Packing boxes 

• Cleaning 

• Trash removal 
• Assist other shop team members with equipment installation, service, cleaning. 

• Assist welders by pre-assembling and preparing parts and assemblies prior to welding. 

• Assist in bending operations that require two people. 

• Responsible for requesting tools, supplies, and fixtures needed to complete work assignments. 

• Operating hot-water pressure washer to clean equipment, as required. 

• Other duties as assigned. 

• May be required to work in other locations from time to time. 

Requirements

• Ability to utilize basic measuring devices (tape measure, calipers, etc…) 

• Perform basic mathematical calculations & perform decimal-to-fraction conversions. 

• Perform basic standard to metric dimensional conversions. 

• Ability to lift up to 75lbs 
• Experience as a Laser Machine Operator

Minimum Required Education, Credentials, Licenses and Experience:  

•  High School Diploma, or equivalent GED 

• 1+ Year in a fabrication environment (Preferred) 

• Forklift certified (Preferred, Training on-site available) 

• Overhead Crane Certified (Preferred, Training on-site available) 
• Bend-Press Machine operation a plus
