Job Description

The Sr. Business Analyst’s primary role is to serve as liaison and relationship manager from Stratas Information Strategy to Stratas business units. This includes understanding the business unit’s strategy, objectives, issues, and processes across key functional areas including order entry, quoting, supply chain, procurement, and finance. This role brings Information Strategy insights into business strategic planning activities, champions ERP-related change, and identifies opportunities to improve, standardize, and integrate business processes across the enterprise.

This position plays a critical role in enhancing end-to-end business workflows, from customer quote and order capture through procurement, production/supply chain execution, and financial processing (billing, costing, and reporting). The Sr. Business Analyst builds and communicates business cases for IS projects, coordinates with IS and external partners to ensure quality delivery and manages projects.

Business Analysts become proficient in core business processes—including order management, pricing/quoting, purchasing, inventory planning, and financial transactions—and continuously pursue process improvements. The role also supports application portfolio management, including maintaining process documentation, data models, and system integrations; developing complex business requirements; collaborating with technical teams on system designs; executing test plans; and coordinating system implementations.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Assist in documenting business and IS processes using appropriate methods and tools, including processes related to order entry, quoting, supply chain planning, procurement, and finance.

2. Support ERP system modules across functional areas such as order management, pricing/quoting, procurement, inventory/supply chain, and financials (GL, AP, AR).

3. Assist in maintaining system integrity through system upgrades, configuration changes, and user access updates.

4. Participate in the analysis, design, customization, testing, and implementation of system modules, with a focus on integrated business flows from quote-to-cash and procure-to-pay.

5. Participate in integration testing, conversion, and deployment activities; help resolve defects impacting end-to-end business processes (e.g., order-to-cash, procure-to-pay).

6. Assist in training users across key domains, including order entry, quoting tools, purchasing workflows, supply chain processes, and financial transaction processing.

7. Assist in preparing and maintaining ERP configuration and customization documentation.

8. Promote effective use of systems to solve business problems and improve efficiency across sales operations, supply chain, procurement, and finance.

9. Apply project management principles to manage assigned work and projects effectively.

10. Effectively participate in cross-functional teams, especially those spanning sales, operations, supply chain, procurement, and finance organizations.

11. Manage time effectively to meet individual and project deadlines.

12. Collaborate closely with onsite teams and participate in meetings to drive departmental and cross-functional objectives.

13. Analyze and recommend improvements to order lifecycle processes, pricing and quoting accuracy, supplier performance, inventory optimization, and financial reporting.

14. Support compliance, audit, and reporting requirements related to financial systems, procurement policies, and transactional data integrity.

15. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience (experience in application development preferred).

 

Required Experience:

· Five to seven years of experience in IT or a related business function.
