The Role:

The Launch Electrical Diagnostician is a key position to support the plant in achieving electrical first time quality (EFTQ) glidepath during vehicle program launch. The primary responsibility is supporting electrical end of line (EOL) repair process.  This role will collect data and information to help resolve the ongoing issues impacting EFTQ during launch.

What You'll Do: (Responsibilities):

  • Launch (Travel as required, supporting off shifts required)
  • Lead electrical troubleshooting efforts for the team, focusing on top-hitting EFTQ issues, using Red X statistical problem solving and strategy-based diagnostics.
  • Create actionable items from electrical failures to enable issue documentation and follow up, lead corrective action plans this includes feedback to 3rd party assemblers and engineering for no trouble found faults
  • Document and track all issues appropriately, escalate to leadership when needed, support other team members in their issues
  • Support connectors disconnect workshop during launch to develop database for repair faults
  • Be the key contact for Final Process Repair regarding training, troubleshooting vehicle issues, repair root cause entry into the reporting system, Service Information schematic and plant repair diagnostic tools
  • Support team members in their tasks including but not limited to training others and establishing standardized work
  • Learn new technologies associated with Electrical Architecture and effectively transfer key learnings to appropriate plant team members

Additional Job Description

    Your Skills & Abilities:​ (Required Qualifications):

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field or equivalent experience

    • 3 years previous experience with automotive electrical sub-systems or repair
    • Ability to work OT and weekends
    • Ability to work all shifts (1st, 2nd & 3rd)
    • Must have strong written and oral communication skills
    • Must be able to manage tasks
    • Able to make data driven decisions quickly with a high level of confidence
    • Ability to travel 50% of the time or higher based on business needs domestically and international.

    What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

    • Master's Degree in Engineering
    • Prior manufacturing plant experience in either Electrical or Plant Floor Operations
    • Electrical Engineering Experience
    • Supervisory role on plant floor, experience with managing UAW employees
    • Working knowledge of Global Manufacturing Systems and Built In Quality metrics
    • ASE certification, Dealer Experience or similar
