​Essential Job Functions:

• Cover designated events on Capitol Hill, such as hearings and markups
• Report on open meetings at the Securities and Exchange Commission and other agencies
• Draft correspondence and other communications pieces
• Conduct legislative and other research
• Assist in the preparation of meeting materials
• Monitor and report on state-level activities related to financial services

Education/Experience Requirements:

• The ideal candidate will be majoring in Communications, Political Science, Finance, or Business Administration, or pursuing a related graduate or law degree.
• Only candidates entering their third or fourth year of undergraduate studies or pursuing graduate studies will be considered.
• Work experience in a financial, brokerage or investment environment is a plus.
• Familiarity with Capitol Hill is also a plus.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude and professional demeanor.
• Effective communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with others to meet deadlines.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.

Working Conditions:

• Work is normally performed in an office environment.

For work that is performed in CA, CO, HI, MN, VT, IL, Jersey City, NJ, New York City, NY, MA, WA, MD, Washington, DC, NJ State and NY State, please refer to the chart below for the salary range for the corresponding location. In addition to location, actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s skill set, level of experience, education, and internal peer compensation comparisons.

CA: Minimum Hourly Rate $24.00, Maximum Hourly Rate $33.00
CO/HI/MN/VT*: Minimum Hourly Rate $22.00, Maximum Hourly Rate $31.00

IL*: Minimum Hourly Rate $22.00, Maximum Hourly Rate $31.00
Jersey City, NJ/NYC, NY: Minimum Hourly Rate $24.00, Maximum Hourly Rate $33.00

MA/WA: Minimum Hourly Rate $22.00, Maximum Hourly Rate $33.00

MD/Washington, DC: Minimum Hourly Rate $24.00, Maximum Hourly Rate $33.00

NJ: Minimum Hourly Rate $22.00, Maximum Hourly Rate $33.00

NY: Minimum Hourly Rate $24.00, Maximum Hourly Rate $33.00

*Including positions performed outside the state but reporting to an office or manager in that state.

Candidates can expect salary offers that range from the minimum to the mid-point of the salary range. FINRA provides full pay ranges so that the candidate can consider their growth potential while at FINRA.
