Job Summary:
As a Nurse Student, you will participate in clinical rotations at our hospital to gain practical experience and develop your nursing skills. Under the supervision of experienced nursing staff, you will apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world healthcare setting, working with patients and learning from seasoned professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Practice:
- Assist in providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
- Perform basic nursing tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with patient hygiene.
- Observe in advanced procedures as allowed by your educational program and hospital guidelines.
- Learning and Development:
- Apply classroom knowledge to clinical practice under faculty supervision, enhancing your understanding of nursing principles and procedures.
- Participate in educational activities and training sessions provided by the hospital.
- Seek feedback from supervisors and mentors to improve clinical skills and professional behavior.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care activities in accordance with hospital policies.
- Report any changes in patient condition or concerns to the supervising nurse promptly.
- Complete all required evaluations and assessments related to your clinical rotation.
- Professionalism and Compliance:
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Documentation:
- Proof of current enrollment in a nursing program at a school with which we have an existing educational agreement.
- Health clearance, including immunizations and TB testing, as required by the hospital.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
