Senior Sourcing Manager, Logistics & Tolling

Position Overview:
The Novelis North America team is seeking a Senior Sourcing Manager, Logistics & Tolling. Reporting to the Regional Procurement Director, the Sr. Manager, Logistics & Tolling is accountable to develop and implement the regional and global sourcing strategies for the group of categories of spend – Over-the-road (OTR) Transportation, Rail, Warehousing, and Tolling - with the goal to ensure supply security, the lowest total cost-of-ownership, generates sustainable savings and value creation through innovation, and risk management. The incumbent develops and drives Strategic Source Plans that assess supply markets, competing buyers, position of Novelis, portfolio analysis, supplier cost analysis, strategic options and source recommendations. The incumbent is accountable for value creation target on a total cost of ownership basis of a minimum of 3% of spend per year.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the regional and global sourcing strategies for the group of categories of spend – Over-the-road (OTR) Transportation, Rail, Warehousing, and Tolling
- Ensure maintenance, security, and competitive supply of strategic non-metal demands in scope to feed the regional operations. Support growth and minimize cost for highly complex Novelis' operations.
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships in complex market environments. Cultivate strategic relationships and handle supply chain risk while maintaining Novelis' flexibility. Monitor market developments, international movements and tariff barriers that may create new challenges or new opportunities.
- Negotiate and handle regional contracts as a framework for supply agreements. Carry out regional and local contract compliance where global agreements are in place.
- Ensure that regional sourcing of non-metal demands for products and services improves Novelis’ leverage in the global market despite of credit constraints and supports profitability and working capital objectives through anticipating and adapting to industry consolidation and market developments.
- Collaborate with global and other regional Procurement organizations and collaborators to improve value for Novelis.
- Partner with the Purchasing Team, as required, to ensure Production Supplies and Services are delivered on time and in a quality-conformed manner.
- Develop an extensive knowledge of the supplier base and the respective value chains to ensure continuity of supply.
- Support implementation and roll-out of the Supplier Quality Relationship Management Framework
- Influence and engagement to support cross-functional key collaborators from across Novelis, including commercial, manufacturing, technical, engineering, manufacturing excellence, R&D, Finance, IT, Legal, etc.
- Technical Know-how of the major materials and supply flows into and out of the plants/regions with focus on costs, supplier options, and vulnerabilities that can impact the efficiency of operations. Drive risk mitigation efforts in collaboration with other cross-functional teams to address these vulnerabilities.
- Partners with Value Stream Leadership, Plant Management, Regional & Global Procurement teams, to meet or exceed the Plants’ Savings Targets with a TCO mindset
- Excellent communication skills that allow the Procurement Leadership to get the “voice of the Customer” & to understand the company Culture and how to best communicate Procurement’s value to it.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/BA Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or similar
- 5-10 Years of Sourcing or Procurement Experience
- Strong Leadership, Interpersonal, and Communication skills
- Experience in Negotiation and Commercial Terms Management
- Strong quantitative, project management, and data analysis skills
- Highly effective communications in all levels of the organization
- Able to influence and thrive in a Team environment
- High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP experience is a plus
