Office of Adult, Aging and Disability Services - Wheat Ridge Regional Center 
This work unit provides comprehensive services and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This work unit’s focus is on providing services and supporting an active learning approach. The work unit is also focused on creating and promoting a safe and healthy environment for individuals supported. This work unit provides 24-hour treatment services that are in compliance with State and Federal regulations.

The Wheat Ridge Regional Center is looking to hire motivated, hard-working individuals to provide direct support services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Some of the individuals we serve have high medical needs, while others need significant support around behavioral and mental health needs. About the Work Unit:

This work unit exists to provide direct supervision and support, crisis intervention, and active treatment, and to ensure the physical safety and security of the persons served at the Wheat Ridge Regional Center (WRRC), its staff members, its property, and others. WRRC is composed of 17 homes and is designated as an ICF/IID facility (Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities). This includes the Kipling Village Complex, which is composed of five residential facilities licensed as an ICF/IID; this is a partially locked unit serving individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, some of whom receive treatment for criminal and/or sex-offending behaviors. The majority of the individuals served at WRRC are dually diagnosed with an intellectual/developmental disability as well as mental health diagnoses and present significant behavioral challenges. WRRC provides safety and security, behavioral management, crisis intervention, rehabilitation/treatment, quality health, and active treatment learning in a safe, healthy environment for individuals with intellectual disabilities and co-occurring mental illness. This work unit provides 24-hour treatment services that are in compliance with State and Federal regulations. This work unit also provides staff with knowledge, skills, and training to perform the essential functions and assigned duties of their positions in the area of safety and security for individuals supported and employees of the agency.

About this position:

The Clinical Security Officer I position exists to provide specialized support that meets the safety, behavioral, health, and residential needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities, co-occurring mental health diagnosis, as well as complex safety and behavioral needs, who live in ICF-IID group homes. This position will assist in safety and security, crisis intervention emergencies; milieu management; behavioral intervention; physical intervention; implementing the Individual Program Plan; and providing direct supervision and support. This position evaluates and ensures the physical safety and security of the persons served at the Wheat Ridge Regional Center, its staff members, and the community. The position also assists in providing training to other staff, in order to teach them to provide a safe and secure environment. This position works in the homes to provide aggressive, consistent, and specialized implementation of a 24-hour, individualized plan designed to help individuals achieve safe behavior, maximum independence and prevent functional regression through training, services, and skill building.  This position provides interventions compliant with federal and state licensing requirements and f
