 Salary: 97,500 - 115,000 / year based on experience

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Director of Food & Nutrition Services to lead the day-to-day operations of our dynamic and high-volume foodservice department at Eastern Maine Medical Center, overseeing a managed volume of $13 million. In this key leadership role, you will manage a team of 120 hourly associates across patient services, clinical dietetics, and retail food operations.

You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, maintaining client satisfaction, achieving financial goals, and developing talent within a mission-driven healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all aspects of foodservice operations in alignment with budgetary and service goals
• Ensure food quality and service exceed client and patient expectations
• Manage sanitation, safety, and equipment maintenance programs
• Cultivate strong relationships with clients, hospital leadership, and internal departments
• Mentor and develop a high-performing team across multiple foodservice functions
• Integrate food and nutrition services with the facility’s overall operations and strategic plans

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Nutrition, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of 5 years of proven leadership experience in food and nutrition service management
• Required experience managing foodservice operations within an acute care hospital setting.
• 2–4 years of direct operational management experience, including inventory and purchasing
• Strong understanding of food and catering trends, sanitation practices, food cost controls, and culinary presentation
• Experience with P&L management and contract-managed services preferred
• ServSafe® certification a plus
• Forward-thinking, proactive leader with excellent communication and client relationship skills
