We are looking for a Jr. Data Center Operations & Systems Technician to join us as we build cutting-edge technology solutions! This is your opportunity to be part of a team that is committed to delivering best-in-class service to our customers.

In this role, you will perform hands-on installation, cabling, hardware maintenance, system checks, and deployment support within a live data center environment. Working from established procedures and with guidance from experienced technicians, you will help maintain safe, secure, reliable, and well-documented operations. This role requires alignment with the client’s best practices and safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, rack, stack, cable, label, and validate servers, network devices, storage systems, rack power distribution units, and associated rack and MOR cabling by following approved work instructions.

  • Perform documented hardware repairs, component replacements, rack moves, equipment deployments, and IT equipment decommissioning with appropriate guidance and escalation.

  • Complete daily system checks and preventive maintenance; review assigned alerts, tickets, and logs and escalate issues outside documented procedures.

  • Troubleshoot common hardware, imaging, connectivity, and configuration issues using approved diagnostic steps and knowledge documentation.

  • Support server imaging and deployment using approved MDT, WDS, PXE, or equivalent environments; apply operating system updates, patches, and baseline configurations.

  • Assist with basic device and network configuration, including IP addresses, VLAN assignments, DHCP, DNS, domain access, and device-to-device connectivity validation.

  • Update tickets, maintenance histories, repair records, inventory systems, asset records, and project trackers accurately and on time.

  • Verify equipment identity, location, status, and chain-of-custody information during deployment, maintenance, movement, and decommissioning activities.

  • Follow access controls, change procedures, data-handling requirements, safety practices, and applicable operational standards.

  • Communicate task status, blockers, safety concerns, and recurring issues promptly to senior technicians or appropriate stakeholders.

  • Maintain an orderly work area and participate in process, documentation, and operational-readiness improvements.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of hands-on experience in data center operations, IT hardware support, desktop support, field services, networking, or a comparable technical environment; relevant technical education or lab experience may substitute for professional experience.

  • Working knowledge of server components, network devices, storage hardware, structured cabling, rack layouts, and basic power concepts.

  • Foundational understanding of TCP/IP, IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and common connectivity troubleshooting.
