About the role

Job Summary:

Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to generators and components at the customer’s site.

We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in (Albuquerque, NM)

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Completing repair activities on generators or components 
  • Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of service
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools

 

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
  • High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
  • Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.

(Intermediate):

  • Advanced troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.
  • Startup and repair of bypass transfer switch.
  • Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation.

     

Technician will be responsible for assisting in support of local data centers, rail applications, mining applications and also life/safety facilities.

Technician will need to be available for call outs on the weekends.

Technician may be asked to complete training and badging protocol for some job sites. 

 

  • A current valid license is required for this role 
  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations 
  • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical 
  • 3 years driving experience 
  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use 
  • Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age 

Education, Licenses, Certifications: 
Apprentice Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution 
Current relevant electrical certification 
Locally valid driving permit
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Salary rate commensurate with experience.
