About you and the role:
The Geographic Communications Manager has oversight for communications in support of Dow across the Netherlands. The role is based in Terneuzen (NL).
The Geographic Communications Manager role is responsible for developing and implementing integrated, multi-channel internal and external communications plans that protect, build and drive Dow’s reputation and brand with key stakeholder groups in the Benelux. Their responsibilities include to build relationships and promote transparency with national stakeholders, NGOs, associations, and the Dutch speaking media. They will develop and implement a media and communications strategy highlighting that Dow produces the building blocks for thousands of goods we all use every day and are necessary for society, while reinforcing our long-standing commitment to sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements targeted integrated communication plans supporting corporate business priorities as well as country objectives including decarbonization and sustainability
- Develops and updates key messaging, speeches, and presentations while also helping organize internal and external events
- Acts as member of the crisis management and emergency response team, supports third parties on site with their crisis management
- Builds relationships with national stakeholders, NGOs, associations, and the Dutch speaking media to develop key messages and shape talking points. Acts as a media spokesperson as needed.
- Understands key policy and regulatory themes and works closely with Government Affairs to drive successful advocacy delivery.
- Monitors and analyses political developments in the Netherlands, coordinates Company’s position and response.
- Manages the development of Dow’s Dutch language social media channels and websites.
- Brings a strong focus on analytics, translating findings back into communications programs and practices.
- Develops and implements local employee communications strategy and plan; manages communication channels to employees .
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Affairs, or related field.
- 6-10 years of professional experience.
- Strong written communication and speaking skills; proficient in both Dutch and English writing and speaking.
- Understanding and knowledge of modern communications technologies.
- Crisis management skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated to deliver at a high level of excellence with ever increasing demands.
- Flexibility for some travel (more or less 5% of the time).
