Senior Mechanical Engineer

Wight & Company, an award winning, integrated architecture, engineering and construction firm, based in Darien, Illinois, has a tremendous opportunity for an experienced Sr. Project Manager - Mechanical Engineer.

We seek an enthusiastic, motivated individual who will report to the Director of MEP Engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate with/present to clients regarding projects
• Head up multiple MEP projects
• Mentor/train mechanical engineers/designers
• Independently design projects from schematic design through project completion
• Produce detailed design documents and specifications

Requirements:

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering required
• 12 + years of HVAC engineering experience
• Good working knowledge of IMC, IECC and ability to perform Energy Modeling using TRACE, eQUEST or other programs is required
• Strong understanding of ASHRAE Standards, especially 55, 90.1 & 62.1
• Experience in projects with sustainable solutions including LEED certifications or net zero energy are a  plus
• PE. license preferred
• Strong communicator with the ability to interact with a variety of clients
