Compensation: $156,000 - $195,000 per year. You are eligible to a Short-Term Incentive Plan with the target at 20% of your annual earnings, terms and conditions apply.
The Director, Market Access will join a highly experienced team and be responsible for developing and executing strategies to ensure broad market access and reimbursement for our molecular diagnostic solutions. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including revenue cycle, sales, marketing, and medical affairs, to ensure the successful commercialization of products across various healthcare systems and payer environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in market access strategies in hereditary cancer and rare disease, and a proven track record of navigating complex payer landscapes.
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Market Access Strategy Development:
- Increase Ambry’s reach through converting out of network opportunities
- Develop and implement comprehensive market access strategies to ensure contract adoption in key markets.
- Maximize reimbursement by negotiating the optimal reimbursement rates.
- Drive profitable growth through internal and external processes and strategies.
- Conduct market assessments to understand payer landscapes, reimbursement policies, and healthcare delivery trends affecting molecular diagnostics.
- Help lead pricing strategy development and manage negotiations with payers, including public and private insurance providers.
- Drive the creation and execution of reimbursement strategies, including value propositions, health economic models, and pricing frameworks.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including regulatory, clinical, sales, and marketing, to align pricing models, and market access considerations.
- Help drive profitable volume through stakeholder engagement, both internal and external.

- Demonstrating Ambry-brand issue identification and resolution; always keeping focused on our core roles and meeting our goals.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE:
- BS Degree in Business, Marketing, Chemistry, or Biology
- MBA Preferred
- TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Skill, Abilities and Capabilities):
- Ability to work collaboratively with a motivated and successful team.
- Self-starter, quick study, someone who enjoys a dynamic work environment, and open to critical/constructive feedback
- A solid understanding of the molecular diagnostic testing market
- Demonstrated track record of developing and managing complex negotiations with multiple decision makers
- Outstanding problem solving; resolution- oriented. Project and program management skills
- Ability to develop a value proposition and effective business case that will influence payor guidance leading to successful outcomes
- Ability to present economic data, scientific findings and complex information in a persuasive manner in front of large groups
- EXPERIENCE:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD) is preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in market access, reimbursement, pricing, or health economics, ideally within the molecular diagnostics or broader diagnostics sector.
- Deep relationships within the commercial payor industry
- Proven experience with market access strategy development and payer negotiations.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare reimbursement processes and payer environments.
- Experience in navigating complex molecular lab products through payer and regulatory systems.

- Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Deep understanding of market access drivers in molecular diagnostics, including clinical data, pricing, and reimbursement requirements.
- Ability to work effectively across departments and lead cross-functional teams.
- Analytical skills to interpret market data and develop actionable insights.
Travel: Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed to engage with stakeholders and attend key conferences.
