Corporate Risk Manager

Location - Prefer candidate in the Pittsburgh area, but would be open to regional candidate able to travel into Pittsburgh on a regular cadence. 

 

We are seeking a highly experienced, passionate, compliance and business-minded professional to join the Office of the General Counsel.

 

Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, Intellectual Property, Commercial and Enterprise Risk Management, this position is a key member of the Office of General Counsel and responsible for oversight of Kennametal’s insurance and risk management program, assessing, identifying, and mitigating risks that could impede the reputation, safety, security, or financial success of the organization.

 

This position requires hands-on, practical approaches and a solid working knowledge of enterprise risk management, global insurance programs, and claims management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Implement an overall risk management process for the organization, which includes an analysis of the financial impact on the company when risks occur.
• Gather all exposure data and manage the acquisition of all Property, Casualty and Executive Risk insurance policies globally.  Manage Kennametal’s global insurance programs centrally out of the corporate office. Coordinate with insurance broker(s) on insurance renewals and coverage recommendations.
• Gather all exposure data and manage the acquisition of Business Travel Accident insurance.
• Manage all aspects of property, workers compensation and auto insurance claims.
• Coordinate insurance coverage of general liability claims.
• Prepare risk management and insurance budgets. Prepare loss analyses and budgets. Identify exposures and recommend solutions.
• Manage relationships with third party service providers including brokers, insurers and other TPAs.
• Manage property insurance loss control activities including infrared testing and property insurance recommendation responses.
• Manage Kennametal’s Enterprise Risk Management program with direction from management team.
• Create and update business continuity plans to limit risks.
• Assist with Corporate risk assessments: benchmarking risks; analyzing current risks and identifying potential risks that are affecting the company.
• Satisfy policy and compliance audits, which will include liaising with internal and external auditors.
• Maintain records of insurance policies and claims.
• Review insurance aspects of any new major contracts or internal business proposals.
• Build risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the company.

 

Education and Technical/Professional Experience

• Educational minimum – bachelor’s degree. Risk Management certifications preferred.
• Experience minimum – 5 years’ experience of comprehensive risk management administration.
• Executive presence, with ability to interact with, challenge, influence and establish personal credibility with senior management and other employees.
• Broad and critical thinking, with global perspective.
• Global leadership and business influence skills.
• Exceptional analytical skills and effective judgment and decision-making capabilities.
