The Sales & Event Manager will be responsible for managing the Time Out Market Events and Event Sales through diverse events and market activations.
As a Sales and Event Manager you'll play a key role in driving revenue and delivering exceptional event experiences.
Combining proactive and reactive sales, this role involves creating new business opportunities through networking and account management, building client relationships, and managing all enquiries surrounding events within the market. You will also be responsible for end-to-end delivery of in-house events, from conceptualisation to execution, ensuring they are well planned, seamlessly executed, and leave a lasting impression on our guests. This is a dream role for an experienced sales person who LOVES hospitality, events and event management.
Responsibilities
Coordinate all administrative event details with clients from inquiry to close including negotiating, executing proposals, contracts, credit card authorization forms, processing payments and deposits, developing floor plans, post event follow-up and lost business reports.
Work with the chefs and operators of each concession stand to develop competitive, exciting and diverse event offerings.
Act as primary onsite contact to client at buy outs; must be able to monitor the progress of the event and deal with diversions and uncertainties immediately, and must be able to perform well under pressure.
Liaise with Time Out Digital teams to execute Marketing strategies and Creative Solutions for Event Sales.
Drive the growth of events by managing all incoming enquiries and converting them into revenue-generating events and activations.
Actively pursue new business opportunities through proactive sales activities such as networking, industry research, and partnering with external entertainment agencies, and local businesses.
Build strong, lasting relationships with clients, focusing on both acquisition and retention.
Ensure exceptional guest service and communication to meet client needs and exceed expectations.
Full ownership of in-house events, from ideation and planning through to flawless execution. This includes organising everything from seasonal parties to bespoke events, ensuring all details are managed effectively.
Regularly review sales performance, track revenue against targets, and adjust strategies accordingly. Monitor and analyse monthly reports and forecasts, and implement necessary action plans
Work closely with all internal teams, including our kitchens, operations and GM and to ensure smooth event execution and excellent guest service.
Continuously generate new business through research into new industry sectors and ongoing relationships building with key suppliers and partners
Keep up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and guest preferences to inform sales strategies
Review pricing and propose improvements based on competitive market research, ensuring the best offerings in the market
Create and update sales strategies to support the group and event business, ensuring alignment with company goals and vision
Prepare and present tailored proposals for bookings, and exclusive hires, ensuring all guest needs met and expectations are exceeded
Manage event calls and email enquiries in a professional and timely manner
Build and maintain an extensive database, keeping a detailed and accurate guest history of all relevant details for future events
