Technician, Research Laboratory AJob Description Summary
This regular part-time research laboratory technician will provide essential support to the van Eps Endocrinology Lab within the Department of Clinical Studies, NBC. Position located in Kennett Square, Pa. No public transportation is available.Job Description
Responsibilities include performance of laboratory tests, analyzer maintenance, sample prep, and sample storage. Duties include data collection and evaluation as well as maintenance of laboratory records and equipment. Provide additional research support as needed by the department. The position includes work with live horses including handling, procedures, and sample collection. Position is regular part-time 24 hrs./week.
Job Responsibilities
- Organize and run serum and plasma samples on automated analyzers
- Input information and create reports in Microsoft Access
- Data collection and analysis
- Assist in research projects
- Participate in live horse research including handling, sample collection, procedures, monitoring/observation
- Organize and maintain laboratory including records and equipment
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Grad/GE Degree and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Bachelor's degree and experience handling horses is preferred.
