Position Summary:
Tessera Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated in vivo scientist to help support our in vivo delivery discovery program teams. You will work with a cross-functional team to execute the in vivo studies to optimize the delivery system of our Gene Writers to edit immune cells and stem cells in vivo.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the design of in vivo studies for delivery system optimization, and disease model development.
- Execute animal dosing, takedown, biopsy or tissue collection and sample processing.
- Aid in the animal ordering and IACUC animal protocols establishment.
- Contribute to other projects in the team, with in vivo and/or ex vivo
- Present study observations and data in cross-functional project meetings.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related life sciences field with at least 2-4 years of industry or academic experience required.
- Robust experience with intravenous (IV), intraperitoneal (IP) and subcutaneous (SQ) injections of laboratory rodents required.
- Experience with animal takedown, tissue collection/processing required.
- Experience working with rats is desirable.
- Experience with bone marrow conditioning regimens and/or animal models of cell/gene therapy is a plus.
- Experience with ex vivo experimental tools such as FACS, ELISA, RT-PCR etc. is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and proficiency in multi-tasking in an extremely fast-paced environment with both competing and shifting priorities.
- Experience maintaining an electronic laboratory notebook and following protocols, familiarity with programs such as Excel and Prism for data entry.
- Team player with excellent communication skills and “do-what-it-takes” attitude.
