Location: Brentwood, TN- hybrid position

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Specialist to join our team. This role will act as a liaison between Integrated Telehealth Partners (ITP) providers, service line directors, and the Athena EMR system teams (AthenaOne and Athena Advisory Services). The Revenue Cycle Specialist will ensure smooth revenue cycle operations, proactively manage claim issues, and work towards accurate and timely claim submissions. The position requires familiarity with revenue cycle management and prior experience with the Athena EMR is preferred. This is a hybrid role, offering both in-office and remote work options.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a primary point of contact between ITP providers, service line directors, and Athena teams to ensure efficient revenue cycle management.
• Manage and resolve issues in various claim hold buckets, addressing issues such as patient insurance discrepancies, demographics, authorization problems, provider enrollment, credentialing issues, administrative holds, and missing payer information.
• Collaborate with Athena Advisory Services to resolve claim denials and ensure clean claim resubmissions.
• Ensure all completed patient appointments are checked out correctly, and no-shows are appropriately marked in the system.
• Monitor and resolve missing slips for patient encounters where claims have not been created.
• Regularly monitor patient insurance eligibility and resolve any related issues.
• Oversee the remittance dashboard to track EOBs received at ITP and ensure proper payment posting within Athena.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing, financial responsibility, and payments, offering assistance with credit card payments when possible.
• Support Finance team during month-end reporting to ensure complete, accurate, and timely revenue cycle reporting.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with the Athena EMR system is preferred.
• Strong understanding of the revenue cycle, insurance claims, and billing  processes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams, providers, and patients.
• High level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing, insurance, and authorization processes.
