Hourly base pay rate is $28.08 - $42.12/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. You will work in a fast-paced environment where these batteries are repaired, refurbished and repurposed.
As a Lead Battery Maintenance Technician, you will receive training as you work under the supervision of a production team to work with electric vehicle battery packs to complete requirements from the operator.
Job and Responsibilities:
- Serves as lead and master-level Battery Maintenance Technician.
- Works with Battery Maintenance management to forecast job requirements, ensure appropriate resource allocation and adjust schedules and availability accordingly.
- Models safety behaviors and ensures technicians comply with all health, safety and environment requirements.
- Addresses and resolves issues escalated from technicians and/or customers.
- Monitors workflow processes and develops / recommends areas for improvement.
- Identifies and resolves systemic issues within the team.
- Handles issues escalated from Battery Maintenance team members, customers and other stakeholders.
- Serves as a key liaison to other teams and leaders, ensuring other team support for all operations.
- Finds and recommends ways to improve the team’s efficiency, quality and operational effectiveness.
- Disassemble battery packs using various tools.
- Package and secure battery packs or battery part to prepare for shipping.
- Provide minor diagnostic work to determine root cause of non-working batteries.
- Provide repair to refurbish vehicle batteries for redeployment
- Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 9 years’ experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Previous employment or contract experience with Cox preferred.
- This is a physical position and requires the following:
- Individual lifting up to 50 pounds and the use of team lifting or lifting equipment to lift up to 137 pounds.
- Constant sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, stooping, lifting.
- Good hand and finger dexterity.
- Good hand and eye coordination.
- Requires physical ability and mental acuity to execute the duties of the position successfully within required timeframes to meet business requirements under safety guidelines.
Working Environment
Variable, consisting of both the office environment and the manufacturing floor. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection and sanitary footwear.
