Technical Specialist I - Special Coagulation

As Technical Specialist I you will collaborator with other technical roles and the management team to provide direction for the technical operation of the laboratory, including:
- Operation maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and assays
- Validating and documenting operational changes using the test life cycle process (TLCP)
- Providing direction for operational workflow and serving as an expert resource for the work unit
- Completing projects and assignments as assigned
- Serving as an expert resource for laboratory technologists
- Actively partnering with team members by fostering an inclusive work environment and respecting others with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives
*Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to apply to other positions within Mayo Clinic.
**This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification; Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
To be considered for the Technical Specialist I position, you will need to meet these qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in clinical/medical laboratory science (CLS/MLS), medical technology (MT), chemistry, or a biological science from an accredited institution and two years of relevant lab experience.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in addition to a certificate in MLS, and two years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Bachelor's degree with laboratory certification if applicable, and two years of relevant laboratory experience.
*A HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree.
Additional Qualifications / Application Requirements
- You must include a cover letter and a resume to be considered for this position.
- DLMP/MCS employees that have been in their current lab/position for less than 2 years must attach an early release approval from their supervisor.
- Internal applicants must attach their three most recent performance appraisals to be considered for this position.
- Experience with operation and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and assays.
- Capable of performing under time constraints, multi-tasking, and working in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Demonstrates self-motivation, attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently.
- ASCP or other certification pertinent to the laboratory field may be required depending on the laboratory specialty and prevailing regulatory requirements.
