What You’ll Do:
The Manager of Data Engineering will play a critical role within the IT/IS Department. Data Engineers at Curaleaf collaborate with business and data analytics teams to design, build, and scale high-leverage datasets that enable analytics, modeling, and experimentation. As a Data Engineering Manager, you will establish and drive a vision for data architecture and data quality across multiple company verticals. The scope of work for this role includes analysis of data structure design, Data pipeline development and Production support. You will be primarily responsible for global organization, technical direction, maintaining artifact, documentation standards, ensuring that operational support services levels are established and followed, and to maintain best in class services and communications with clients are established and maintained. Our teams will be small, but experienced and this role will sit at the epicenter of building and managing a data warehouse, supporting custom application data designs, and developing best practices around data governance.
- Help create and maintain an engineering culture that embraces diversity and fosters trust and innovation in teams
- Develop and execute a roadmap to build and optimize foundational datasets to ensure delivery of high-quality data across multiple company verticals
- End-to-end ownership of a data engineering team, including gathering inputs from leadership and partner teams, roadmap planning and prioritization, promoting best practices, and mentoring and developing the DE Team.
- Inform architectural decisions, establish best practices, develop lean scalable processes with Data Quality, and contribute to the overall direction of the data organization at Curaleaf
- Advise on the architecture and development of the data warehouse and reporting-based solutions currently in use.
- Support the technical evaluation of business requirements into technical solutions.
- Be an active participant in Sprint rituals and help tweak processes in driving execution efficiency
- Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating performance, systems monitoring, and environment applications
- Establish a collaborative culture that thrives on innovation and impact.
- Work with the Infosec, Compliance and Development partners, both internal and external, on developing in and maintaining HIPAA, PII Compliant systems
