PURPOSE:

Under the general direction of the Associate Vice President of Community and Belonging, the Title IX Coordinator and Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation (DHR) Prevention Administrator provides leadership and direction for the Office of Discrimination, Harassment & Retaliation Prevention and Title IX Administration.  The Coordinator is a hands-on administrator responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and coordinating the campus’ response to students, faculty, staff, and visitors/third parties experiencing varying degrees of distress.  The University’s Title IX Coordinator and DHR Administrator is responsible for university compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of the 1972 Civil Rights Act, the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization of 2012 (VAWA), and CSU system wide and University policies prohibiting discrimination, harassment and retaliation. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Serves as the University’s Title IX Coordinator and Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation (DHR) Prevention Administrator, in accordance with CSU Executive Orders 1096 and 1097 (and subsequent iterations when revised), which includes oversight of and/or investigating allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and sexual violence; meeting with the complainant on a regular basis to determine what interim steps are necessary and ensuring that such steps are taken; developing and/or overseeing educational programs and training materials relating to sexual harassment and sexual violence; regularly assessing student activitie
