This role is in support of Cencora's distribution services in the US operating through our AmerisourceBergen business
Under general direction of the Vice President of Transportation and Delivery, responsible for analyzing the effectiveness of existing Transportation processes and vendors as it relates to end mile customer delivery through local and regional courier companies, ensuring carrier performance and Cencora objectives are aligned. Recommends and contributes to improved strategies in order to reduce cost as a result of these efforts. Supports all Full Line Distribution Centers with a yearly spend exceeding $165MM.
Works closely with VP Operations and Director of Operations to evaluate business processes and designs, develops and implements improvements that reduce costs, improve effectiveness and improves the quality or impact of the result.
Develops innovative solutions to various challenges Cencora faces as it relates to the distribution of products to external and internal customers, managing carrier relations and meeting business objectives.
Develop logistic strategies to meet the changing market conditions, customer requirements and competitive demands of the healthcare industry and managing corporate relationships with carrier partners.
Point of contact for business continuity for customer logistics within the enterprise full truckload network and NDC.
Works closely with the category management team to identify, approve, and coordinate
supplier negotiations for freight terms conversion.
Oversee the following activities related to freight terms conversion:
supplier negotiation strategy, supplier negotiations, origin destination pair data, freight
allowance calculations, supplier amendments, supplier onboarding, and supplier conversion/ freight tendering.
Develop logistic strategies to meet the changing market conditions,
Collaborates and supports the development, data gathering, and reporting of KPI’s to
executive leadership to measure transportation expense.
Oversee the transportation expense planning which requires close collaboration with finance partners, business stakeholders and leading a team of analysts to develop annual plan, identify drivers to monthly variance, provide accurate estimates and identify key trends and opportunities to reduce expenses.
Evaluates and compares existing transportation-related expenses; analyzes results and develops specific actions for cost reduction and improvement to direct reports for execution.
Reviews weekly/monthly/quarterly performance metrics with direct reports to find action plans for improvement. Holds team accountable to develop plans and timelines to achieve expected results
Collaborates and supports other business leaders on strategic enterprise initiatives as needed
Ability to use continuous improvement to develop project charters and direct project management from beginning to end.
Oversees the gathering of data and requirements for carrier RFP’s and carrier conversions.
Leads carrier strategy and negotiations for market pricing, RFP’s and significant changes in market conditions such as large customer onboarding Defines structure and reporting to be used during Quarterly Business Reviews.
Strong leadership skills in building effective teams, creating a culture of accountability, strong engagement, developing communication & leading a team to a share vision that aligns to AB culture, mission, and values, and developing the team into leaders through
delegation, challenging tasks, and escalation of responsibilities.
This position will require 10% travel within North America including Puerto Rico and Hawaii.
Education:
Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor’s degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Normally requires ten plus (10+) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.
